Linda “Sister” Bennett, 68, died on May 25, 2018. A funeral will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church at 12 noon with Rev. Dr. Ricky Banks, pastor, and Elder Jesse C. Purkett, eulogist. Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at Stallings Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. Bennett joined Eastern Star COGIC at an early age. She loved to cook and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Ervin E. Pledger and Alma Bonds Cherry-Pledger, and was also predeceased by a son, Louis Bennett, Jr., and a brother, Ervin Pledger, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Louis Bennett; her daughters, Stephanie Bennett-Dance and Shrika Bennett-Felton (Marvin); sisters Clarice Cherry-Combs (Alton), Brenda Pledger-Johnson (Vernon), Carolyn Pedger, Beaulah Mae Pledger and Barbara J. Cherry-Tyler; uncle, Eddie Erskin Bonds; close friend, Mary Swain; 10 grandchildren; in-laws, Caesar, Oice, Donald, Patricia, JoElla Bennett; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
