Mozelle P. Grizzle

Mrs. Mozelle Patricia Grizzle, 71, of 1157 E. Ridge Road, Shawboro, North Carolina, departed this life on Friday morning, November 5, 2021. A celebration of life for Mrs. Grizzle will be on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 1 pm at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Cardwell St, Elizabeth City, North Carolina by Pastor Nina F. Davis. Interment will follow in the Memory Garden Cemetery, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Stallings Funeral Home from 5 pm – 7 pm.

Mozelle Patricia Grizzle (NANA) born May 2, 1950, in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Alice Nellie Mosely Lewis and Willis Lewis Sr. She was called home to be with the lord on Friday November 5, 2021. 

Mozelle graduated from P. W. Moore High School. After graduating she went on to marry her late husband Willie Earl Grizzle Sr. She enjoyed reading the bible, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she also loved to make flower arrangements amongst many other crafts. Even though she did not have any pastoral certification she always prayed for and with others for spiritual guidance through anything needed.She was a member of Victory Life Church of God of Prophecy. 

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters- Shenettia Freeman of Fuquay Varina, NC and Felisha (Wayne) Harvey of Barco, NC; two sons- Andre (Lorie) Grizzle of Moyock, NC and Willie (Kassie) Earl Grizzle Jr. of Point Harbor, NC. Two sisters- Annie (LeRoy) Mullen and Mary Bowe both of Elizabeth City, NC. Four brothers- Weldon Lewis of Lynn, Mass., Willis Lewis Jr. of Elizabeth, NC, Curtis Lewis of Asheboro, NC, and Vernon (Elaine) Lewis of Elizabeth City, NC. Fifteen grandchildren- Saysha, Joseph, Marquise, Shanesha, Shaquanda, Juwan, Tiara, Tiana, Andre, Lvon, J’Myson, J’Zpar, Mya, Asher, and Carter; 17 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, One son- Terell Grizzle; three sisters- Odessa Lewis, Louise Boyd andVelma Ray Riddick. Six brothers- Wiley Stokley, Robert Lee Lewis, William Ernest Lewis, James Lewis, Winford Lewis, Shem Lewis.
