Our beloved Patricia Mitchell of Elizabeth City, NC departed from this earthly life on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.
Life Celebration Service will take place on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ricky L. Banks, officiating. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Tinnie attended the public schools of Pasquotank County. She met and married Ernest “Charlie Sapp”Mitchell, a migrant camp crew leader. She assisted him and oversaw the meal preparations for the crew in Long Island, NY. Later on, she worked at The Comfort Inn in Nags Head, NC for 15 years.
Tinnie was an awesome cook. She loved her family and found pleasure in preparing delicious meals for gatherings at her home.
Tinnie leaves to cherish her memories; her loving mother, Dora M. Dillard of Elizabeth City, NC; three sisters: Lucy D. Holley of Winston-Salem, NC, Leola “Diane” Dillard of Waterbury, CT and Turis G. Dillard of Elizabeth City, NC; three brothers: William C. Dillard (Sharon) of Winston-Salem, NC, Michael A. Dillard (Lisa) of Roselle, NJ and Eddie S. Dillard (Rosetta) of Elizabeth City, NC, two uncles: George Murden of Fort Worth, TX and Henry Murden(Belinda) of Winston-Salem, NC, a special dedicated cousin, Maria “Bebe” Griffin and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her youngest brother, Joseph “Big Joe” Dillardpreceded her in death.
