Raleigh Spence departed from this earthly life on June 14, 2024.
Celebration of Life will be held at Stallings Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12 noon.A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 pm - 7 pm.
Raleigh Earl Spence was born to Elijah and Anna Spence on August 21, 1943, in Perquimans County, North Carolina . As a youth growing up, Raleigh loved going outside running around and playing with his siblings . Raleigh graduated from Perquimans High School in 1960 . After graduating from high school, Raleigh moved to Plainfield, New Jersey. After moving to New Jersey, he worked several jobs until he found the job he truly loved . He worked for Abby Home Equipment Health Care until his retirement . After retiring, he enjoyed sitting home relaxing and playing cards with family and friends . Once his health began to fail, he moved back home and lived with his niece until the Lord told him to take his rest . Raleigh was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend .
Raleigh leaves to carry on his loving memory: three brothers, Milton Spence (Joyce Ann), Donald Spence and Arthur Spence; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends .
Raleigh was preceded in death by his father, Elijah Spence, his mother, Anna Spence, and his sister, Mary Spence Barclift.
Stallings Funeral Home will be assisting the Spence family with excellence and care during their time of bereavement.
