Wanda M. Turner departed from this earthly life on January 13, 2025.
Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church, Elizabeth City, NC. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m..
Wanda worked with the Pasquotank County
School System for over 20 years, the United States
Coast Guard, and the City of Elizabeth City.
Wanda was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to the
late Katie Lewis and William E. Turner, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her son,
Sergent Carl R. Boone (stationed in BPTA Poland);
two grandchildren, Ava Boone and Chance Boone;
two sisters, Margaret Harris (Colen) of Brooklyn,
NY and Charlene Dunston (Elmer) of Elizabeth
City, NC; and three brothers, Roland Turner and
Alvin Turner, both of Elizabeth City, NC and Law-
ford Turner (Terri) of Barco, NC. She was loved by
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a
beloved friend, Roger Jones of Elizabeth City, NC.
Wanda was preceded in death by six sisters and
seven brothers.
Stallings Funeral Home will be assisting the Turner family with excellence and care during their time of bereavement.
