Wesley V. Mullen departed from this earthly life on July 20, 2024.
Celebration of life services will commence on Saturday July 27, 2024 beginning 1:00 PM at Bethel AME Zion Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The family will also receive family and friends at 1256 Millpond Road, Elizabeth City, NC today from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Wesley was born to the late Moses and Roberta Mullen on January 14, 1931, in Pasquotank County, NC.
Wesley met and married Rosie Grace Angel Stokley Mullen on April 19, 1952, in Elizabeth City, NC. They were married for 45 years until her death.
Wesley leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: Djuana D. White (Sterling), Virginia Beach, Virginia and Romona L. Reese (Clay), Elizabeth City, NC; five sons: Gary Mullen, Elizabeth City, NC, Wesley Mullen, Jr. (Miranda), Palestine, Texas, Barry Mullen (Orethia), Camden, NC, Grantlon Mullen, Elizabeth City, NC and Chad Jordan (Tasha), Ivor, Virginia.
Wesley also leaves to mourn: two sisters, Evelyn McPherson, Elizabeth City, NC and Gloria Mullen, Bronx, NY; three sisters-in-law, Celestine Carver, Mary Williams Stokely and Margaret Stokely, Elizabeth City, NC and one brother-in-law, Renzie Stokley, Sr., Elizabeth City, NC; twenty-seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, special family, Linda Brumsey, Collette Sessoms and Preston Riddick. He was preceded in death by two sons: Leslie Mullen and Tony Mullen (Maria); one daughter: Gail Mullen Price; one daughter-in-law, Yvonne Mullen, and seven siblings.
